Call for Proposal: Multi-Center Clinical Project

We are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2018 AOSpine Asia Pacific Regional ResearchMulti-Center Clinical Project.

The details of 2018 AOSAP Regional Research Project are shown below:

Introduction

The AOSpine Asia Pacific Research Committee (AOSAPRC) established the Regional Research Project as a platform to encourage collaboration within the Asia Pacific.

Multi-center clinical projects will be managed, monitored and funded by the AOSAPRC, and will specifically target a topic that is of relevance to the region.

Number of research project grants: 3

Maximum funding available, per grant: CHF 30,000

Type: Start-up (clinical)

Duration (maximum): 2 Years

Collaboration: multi-center (at least 2 centers)

Number of countries: at least 2 countries

Eligibility Requirements

· The applicant (principal investigator) must be a subscribing member of AOSpine

· The applicant must be a physician, surgeon, physiotherapist, nurse, engineer or scientist with focused interest in spine with an appointment at a university or hospital based research institute.

Terms & Conditions

· The expression-of-interest must be submitted in English on the form provided.

· Recipients must submit an interim report at the six month interval and a final report at the completion of the project

· The research work must be submitted in a peer-reviewed journal within 6 months after the agreed project end date on the research agreement.

· All publications and oral/poster presentations must clearly acknowledge the financial support from AOSpine, stating the grant reference number

· The investigator is expected to present his/her research stemming from this award at an AOSpine sponsored meeting or other conference, at their own expense.

· Intellectual property will not be transferred by reason of entry to the AOSpine and shall remain within owner. The AOSpine is authorized to use the assets and materials for research purposes in future.

· Participating in the AOSpine Research Grant Program implies acceptance of the terms and conditions as stated herein.

· In any instances where circumstances are not covered by these terms and conditions, the AOSpine reserve the right to make the final decision.

· Principal Investigator (P.I.): Applicant who submitted the research proposal that have been selected for the Regional Research Project

· Research Center: Hospital or University which agree to participate in the Regional Research Project

Roles and Responsibility

Publication

· Any publications(s) arising from this research project will be authored by the P.I. and any significant researcher approved by the AOSpine Asia Pacific Committee.

· Any oral / poster presentation and publication shall be acknowledged financial support from AOSpine.
